ActivCore Suspension Fundamentals 2
By Katherine & Kimberly Corp

This course builds on the first suspension exercise course by introducing over 50 more exercises (including regressions and progressions) and providing three more group class templates as well as further applications for integrating ActivCore into private lessons.  The benefits of controlled instability to the neuromuscular system are reviewed so students truly understand how to utilize the system.  Additionally, students learn how to design fluid, functional workouts for their private or group clients, with special attention given to how to link exercises and create smooth transitions between them.  Finally, students learn the basics of the off-weighting system with bungees, which is the hallmark of the ActivCore system.  Students complete the course ready to intensify the client experience on ActivCore safely and effectively.

Scolio-Pilates: Pilates for Scoliosis and Kyphosis
By Karena Lineback

For misalignments of the spine, the spine must be addressed in three-dimensions. Learn to use props to aid movement of the spine towards a neutral alignment.  Once the neutral alignment is obtained, then strengthening around this new alignment will create the lasting change that we desire for our clients.  Focus will include traction on the Pilates equipment, breathing techniques for spinal elongation/strengthening and specific Pilates exercises that accurately activate the muscles needed to change or correct the common misalignments of scoliosis and kyphosis.

OsteoPilates: Pilates For Osteoporosis
By Karena Lineback

Exercise is routinely prescribed for anyone with osteoporosis in order to avoid painful, debilitating fractures. Unfortunately the prescription, exercise, can often be the very thing that creates a fracture in the first place.  This workshop begins by reviewing the anatomy and contraindications of osteoporosis.  You'll learn why specific exercises greatly reduces fracture risk even when bone density does not increase.  And finally, you will acquire the skills to create safe, effective programming for those with osteoporosis.

Dancing with the Ladder Barrel
By Laurette Ryan

Understanding and exploring the dynamic balance of mobility and stability.

The art of dancing with the Ladder Barrel develops the limber muscles and ligaments... “so that your body will be as supple as that of a cat and not muscular like that of the body of a brewery-truck horse..” as expressed by Joseph Pilates in A Return to Life through Contrology.
Whole body commitment and free-flowing movements are the natural effect of Ladder Barrel work. Improving range of motion, flexibility and strength; remove limitations and restrictions in order to work with more precision and natural order.

Exploring classical and contemporary exercises with emphasis on somatic awareness, cuing and technique.

Pilates Pre & Post Pregnancy
By Kathleen Hackworth

Taking a client through their pregnancy with confidence can be a challenge for many teachers.  In this workshop we will review what exercises are appropriate for each trimester as well as for returning back to pilates after giving birth.  We will also review what concerns both the teacher as well as the client may have and ways of modifying exercises to suit each client and their needs. Having gone through two pregnancies that were completely different, I realized in my second pregnancy,  that my workouts would also be different. This workshop should have you, the teacher, feeling more confident in handling a pregnant client no matter what issues should arise.
